Anyone had any luck getting hold of Gil at Skipley Farm. Specifically asks you to email before ordering to confirm availability, but I’ve seen no response from repeated emails.
Nobody else is answering emails either it seems…I’ve got two I’ve enquired and or ordered and haven’t a clue at this point if they’re in the grave or hibernating?
I sent an order out for 5 scions… but so far it’s not been acknowledged.
I’ve had better luck texting with him. Phone number is on his website.
No worries, email and invoice came today!
I had hoped he could still furnish
Davidson Sweeting but no luck.
The other items will be shipped in March the email says.
Thanks Brandon - I’ll give that a try.
There are so many great places to get apple scionwood. It’s been my life long goal to get pears to the level of apples. Pear scionwood is really hard comparatively to obtain.
I noticed apples and even figs are much easier.
Anybody get an order sheet from Singing Tree this year?
Great list of scions. TY for posting this list.
May that day quoted in that Psalm come soon!
I have enough, but some on that list are interesting.
Thank you for taking the time to post this! Singing Tree has always done right by me.
Highly recommend singing tree he always treated me good. That address on that paper is the only way they can be reached as they don’t use computers, phones, or other means of communication.
About Singing Tree: Richard Fahey lives on 90 acres near Oxford, NY, (midway between the Catskills and the Finger Lakes) with his wife and those of his 12 children who still live at home. Singing Tree used to be known as the Catholic Homesteading Movement, and the property has no electricity, no telephone, no indoor plumbing, heats with wood, has no motorized vehicles, and the family relies on what they grow for what they eat. He corresponds only by U. S. Mail. Some children left as soon as they could because of their harsh upbringing.
Hey it looks like Cummins is now selling scions of lots of things … I added them to the list above.
Kremp Florist,in Philadelphia, has quite a few varieties of Fig cuttings and some rooted plants.
I’ve always been satisfied with my orders from Kremp.
I have not tried peacefulheritge nursery yet but they seem to have a good selection.
I occasionally source plants from there. The quality of plants has been good. The quantity of hype from the owner has been excessive.
