Seedless Asian persimmons

What are some recommendations for Asian persimmons that are seedless? I have found a thread by dax talking about 8 or so American persimmons that are supposed to be very good and seedless but I’m having a hard time finding similar information on Asian persimmons.

I know pollination can change texture and flavor and there are many who prefer seeded over seedless because of this but I would prefer to stay seedless if I can.

Thanks,

Matt

usually seeded asian persimmon is becuase it was pollinated by another persimon that has male flowers. if you dont have any of these nearby your persimmons would be seedless.

So does that mean fruiting Asian persimmons only produce female flowers?

I have read that it is rare for american persimmons to have both male and female flowers on the same tree but for Asian persimmons it is more common.

Just want to be sure what I’m getting in to

Some Kakis produce male flowers like Chocolate and I think Hana Fuyu.

There’s a lot of cultivar information here:

The Chocolate variety gets loaded with male flowers, and will pollinate other trees nearby. That said, my Jiro, which is about 15 feet away from Chocolate, had mostly seedless fruit this year. If you are growing some astringent varieties (like Maru), you want them pollinated or the fruits are largely inedible (unless you freeze them, etc.).
