Show Off Your Figs and "This year Harvest"

That all depends on how thin they are sliced. Fairly thin and that’s about right. Usually 135F and 12-18 hrs.

Which ones tasted the best out of that group?

Ghost fig

It’s a RdB that was down in the weeds.

No that’s an albino…

Nah, just blanched, I’ve seen it before.

Rare albino RdB. Refined taste with notes of Vanilla and white nectarine. Improved cold hardiness!

eBay would go nutz.

It’s interesting you have JH at the same time as the Etna types. Was it started earlier in a greenhouse? I can barely get ripe JH at the end of the my season with shuffling and placing along the full exposure south side of the house, and my Etnas will pretty much be done.

Adriatic JH was very good, second is Dalmatie .

No greenhouse but I put all my figs outside around March 23rd which is at least two week earlier from last year.

Those are mighty strange looking strawberries.

I like using the clamshells, they keep them from getting smooshed. Easy to clean as well, just soak in a bleach solution and rinse off.

OMG! That looks amazing. Is the Barnisotte in ground?

Container, I put one in ground this year though. The problem with it is the figs often tear off at the neck when ripening, usually the biggest ones, those are only medium sized! Thinking about supporting the bigger ones with clothespins or something.

This is “the best fig year” for me although I am into only third year growing figs.

Last night and today’s harvest

Not really this year harvest just yet. But I’m showing off my fig! This is my CH turning color. Not sure when to pick it so I decided to wait a day or two. This will be my first ever tree ripened fig.

Can not tell exactly after looking photo but it should feel very soft when you touch it.
