I have NOT tried to search for this apple and it very well may be readily accessible. I read a book about 40 years ago about W. W. Otey title Contender for the Faith. In it he was described as a traveling preacher who often grafted Showalter apples. The best I remember, his wife’s name was Minnie Showalter. Does anyone on the forum happen to have this apple and can describe it?
