Doing my orchard rounds this AM, and I noticed a bug on several of the apple trees. It looks like a small, skinny house fly. Maybe 1/4 to 1/3 the size of house fly. When I see it, it is usually on an unopened leaf bud or on a leaf. It may have its mouth parts in the bud/leaf as it does not seem to be able to fly away quickly when I approach (though it was a cool morning so that may be part of it too). Although I have not seen any holes or chew marks. I tried to get a pic, but by the time I had my camera, I could not find any.
Not the greatest description, but does anyone have any ideas of what these flies could be, and if I should be spraying for them?
