We grow Cilantro in our sun room so that we can enjoy fresh Cilantro year round. Lately it has developed a case of spider mites. I am going to try washing the mites off. I have concerns about using something like insecticidal soap or Neem (residual effect). So, any other ideas out there that may help?
Thanks
Put the pot outside ,spray with water hose to knock them off.
May repeat every so often .
They thrive in dry conditions, without natural predators.
Thanks. Moved it outside this morning and sprayed with hose. I broke off the main stalk, which was a possibility when dealing with a plant that had grow accustomed to it’s spot in the window. It’s still there as it’s a rainy day here and I’ll spray again later.
There are predatory mites outside on vegetation That control spider mites . But not so much in your house.
I have had good luck with water sprays followed by a hand full of grass ( with attending predatory mites ) as a mulch when brought back inside . I just cut a handful of grass out of the base of a clump of fescue put it in the pot inside . So , bringing the good predatory mites inside .
I’ll give it a shot. Thanks for the tip.
