I’m wondering how many of us spray young fruit trees before they are bearing. I’ve been having a discussion about it with someone of Facebook.
I never spray non bearing trees and no-one else in my area does either.
Well, if there is no fruit, you can probably skip the insecticide. Fungicide is on a case by case basis. In the past, I haven’t sprayed in such situations, but I have started spraying young peaches during the winter, as I had several young ones with bad PLC (Peach Leaf Curl) last year. While I was doing that, I also hit the apricots and sour cherries, as I think they are both having problems due to blossom rot (apricots die young and sour cherries are non-productive for me).

In my area, where peach curl is endemic, a fungicide needs to be sprayed even if there’s no fruit yet
I spray all of my trees, bearing or not
