Spraying - what, and when?

Earlier this year I planted around 130 bare root fruit trees in the northern Sacramento Valley, near Chico. In four months or so I’ll be planting another 80. Basically a hobby orchard. Peaches, nectarines, cherries, plums, pears, apples, pluots, apricots, persimmons, and prunes.

Yes, it will be a lot of work. I’m not afraid!

I have a good handle on pruning. I also have a private applicator’s license so that I can buy what I need in bulk if necessary.

What’s a bit hazy is the spraying I’m going to have to do, and when.

Will they all need to be sprayed with a dormant oil? Is a Stihl backpack (gas) sprayer/fogger a good solution? I do have a self-propelled spray rig that I use in my almond orchard - it has a 400 gallon tank, which at this point feels like overkill.

What else would you recommend I spray, and when? Or, can you refer me to a good source of information?

Thank you!

Check Scott’s low impact spray schedule 2019 and Alan’s synthetic spray schedule on this forum. Both will help you immensely.

Neither of these are applicable to chetwynd’s location.
