Spring Frost and Fireblight on Apples is a double punch for Pristine and Liberty?

I have a Liberty Apple and Pristine Apple, which are not doing well or producing many apples here in central Kentucky. Both are supposed to be relatively resistant to disease like Fireblight, but I wonder we also have a lot of late spring frosts here. Could that weaken them and then expose them more to the disease, because it has actually been a quite dry spring here for once.
My only apple tree which has shown any damage and looks so healthy is Enterprise.

Are there any other varieties like Enterprise which might do well in my situation?

Stress can weaken trees making them vulnerable.

There have been well documented cases of Fall fire blight due to tropical systems. Wind damage to leaves.

The varieties you mentioned are not extremely resistant, but only somewhat resistant in the south.

Not to mention new Fireblight strains evolve

.

Late frost stress definitely opens the door for fireblight to take hold, even on varieties that are supposed to resist it. The resistance ratings were mostly developed under more predictable conditions so when you get these wild spring swings it changes the equation. Enterprise is a solid choice though, probably the most reliable disease resistant apple I’ve seen people have success with in warmer zones.

Goldrush and Arkansas black both would be good options
