Friend gave me some rare strawberries but they seem to be having some problems with bugs. What’s the best treatment for these plants not to kill them at this stage? Treatments and quarantine. I have sulphur, neem oil and horticulture oil. Thanks
I have had success eliminating strawberry aphids on strawberries with 1% solution of potassium salts of fatty acid. Usually I spray it a few times about a week apart. I have used sulfur before but they can only handle a small amount of it.
I haven’t used that for years didn’t even think about it thanks.
Although more worried about spider mites than anything. I haven’t used the sulphur yet I’m always afraid to put it onto plants or trees not dormant. Curious about how you use the sulphur on strawberries?
I am advocating using the potassium salts of fatty acids. I did a foliar spray of water and sulfur a few years ago but I don’t recall the concentration. I was curious at the time how different cultivars would handle sulfur and they each have their own tolerances.
Good I grabbed some of the potassium salts of fatty acids today and sprayed it on then placed the plants in the shade. I’ll do that for a few more sprays and repot them. Thanks again.
