T Bud Persimmon Now?

Does June T budding of Asian persimmon on native persimmon have a good chance of working? I plan to bud a 2015 bud on 2015 root sprout.

Or would I get better chance in late summer?

I need to cut a bud stick off a friend’s tree that’s an hour away from my house. Do I need to put bud stick in water during transport?

I did not T bud back then. My record on apple budding is so bad I stopped doing it.
