Hello,
I am planning to add grapes to my orchard next year and looking for recommendations.
I am looking for seedless table grapes with interesting flavors. I usually don’t like white grapes.
I am looking to plant 2-4 varieties next year.
I had a lot of good grapes at the farmers market last year from one guy, but forgot the varieties and that grower is not coming anymore.
I grow two seedless varieties: Somerset Seedless and Jupiter. I prefer Somerset in both flavor and ease of growth. The only knock I have with Somerset is that it produces small grapes. My Jupiter grapes struggle with downy mildew and the grape skin has some degree of astringency (think unripe banana). I am looking for a replacement for the Jupiter if anyone has a recommendation for a seedless grape that matures in the same window.
Might want to take a look at ‘Glenora’ I’ve been reasonably satisfied after it was recommended to me here.
I’d say that the favor was excellent. The yield was a little light, but that might be attributable to my horticultural practices. Most years the fall foliage was very attractive. So if you get one, try and put it where it will be noticed:
