I planted a tangerine about 4 years ago and I have yet to get one off of it. It did suffer some serious frost damage in its seco nd year. Would that limit future blooming?
Thinking I should tear it out and start over!?!
If it’s growing well now don’t start over. It’s likely still recovering from the freeze. Give it at least one more yr.
But it has been two years since the freeze…no blooms at all the last two years!
A picture of the tree would help. How much has it grown? How does it look?
The freeze hasn’t done permanent damage to the trees ability to bloom. If you plant another tree of the same variety it won’t be more inclined to bloom unless it has better reserves.
The tree looks healthy with new growth this spring. So more fertilizer? It looks healthy, just no blooms. I have lime and lemon trees nearby that are doing great. thanks!
