Beware …
Yeah, colder than a wicked step-mother’s kiss last night. 30+ mph gusts and an inch or so of snow. Sure glad the fruit trees are still sleepy.
We got gusts several times in the high 30’s and sustained winds in the teens or above from Friday evening through this morning. It’s moderating nicely enough now, and is supposed to be blown out by 3:00 or so. So it’s March - living up to its reputation.
I wish the trees were still asleep here, plums are full bloom, peaches are first pink to 20% bloom, apples are tight bud to pink depending on the variety.
The only good thing is we’re somewhat warmer than you and Mark are.
Last week it felt like Spring was here, and I was chomping at the bit to get going. Now I feel like hunkering down and catching up on my YouTube watching. But I’m grateful that I don’t have any fruit trees budding out just yet. They will be soon enough, and better not too soon.
we just got done 3 days in the 50’s and heavy rain. no snow left. most lakes are ice free. supposed to cool but not significantly. hopefully we get a good snow or many of my perennial plants will be damaged if it cools too quickly with no snow to protect.
