Time to cut plum scions here

Today I noticed my Wild Goose buds are beginning to turn color and swell at the tips, so I took cuttings and moved my grafting candidates into the greenhouse where the daytime high is 60F. Once rootstock buds begin to swell and daytime temps reach 70F I will bench graft those for my first springtime grafts. By late March I should have signs of graft success and can take them outdoors once nighttime temps are above 50F. So if you plan to take plum or peach scions this spring start watching for bud swell!,
