Found these right in the center of my Santa Rosa plum.
Rose Breasted Grosbeak, I think, if I i.d.'d the mother correctly.

Each year I have robins attempt nesting in one of my fruit trees. Because I like to have birds around I allowed them to stay and raise their brood the first time. Big mistake. All the pears for 3’ around and under the nest had a bird poop covering. I would like to think that early nest removal allows them to find an alternate site.

Is this heading where I think it heading?
The silver lining is that I only have 11 fruit on my Santa Rosa … and I bagged them as there were a precious few.
