Needing suggestions on what to do with this prok persimmon that had the main trunk broke during shipping it also had some kind of borer damage that I had to cut back to only about 2 inches of graft left. Should I wait to see if it sends out a new bud or regraft? It also looks like it could have been grafted twice but not sure. I have contacted nursery and they are sending another one out just trying to salvage this one as well.
It looks to me that the last picture you posted is the graft union. The upper thing you see is probably where one year’s growth ended. I’d be shocked if the tree wasn’t fine, just pick one of the many sprouts to be the new leader.

If there is damage, maybe try parafilm on the top sawed off end and doing a dormant oil spray?

I agree with this 100%. The tree isn’t grafted twice. The graft is the lower junction.
It will be fine, just behind by a year, but FREE tree!
