These tiny volunteer seedlings emerged this spring and I almost cut them down. Fast forward to today and I walked out the front door and looked around. Sometimes leaving things alone works best.

Periwinkle is somewhat invasive. I put it in my flower bed and it took over. Took over in a major way. It also likes to do limited climbing to smother other plants. Mine seem to flower much earlier though.

Tis the reason LATIN is used to identify plants…people have all sorts of names that they apply to differing plants. Vinca minor, vinca major and Catharanthus roseus are all called “periwinkle” and “vinca” by many. The former 2 are perennial vines, the latter one is an annual that is upright and does not vine.

Your probably right. Looks the same, but mine are more vining and love to tip root.

Yes, yours being “vinca minor” probably.
Pictured by Auburn is “Catharanthus roseus” I believe.
