I harvested a few apricots which I used Surround on. How do you wash it off? I ran them under water and gently rubbed with a soft cloth which removed about 75%, but I can’t get the rest off. Any tips/tricks?
I have not found a way to totally scrub Surround off without bruising fruit. I have eaten it with Surround and all. If you don’t like that, you will need to peel your fruit.
First try Luke warm soapy water, that should work unless you used a sticker to apply it, in that case you may need to peel them. The only sticker I have found that works and will readily wash off is 20 mule team borax powder.

I use a soft bristle brush. And usually I just leave it on and don’t bother to do anything, after many rains there isn’t enough on to taste it.
Rain here seems to wash it off.
I have the opposite question: how do I make sure it stays on?
We have had like NO rain…so it stuck on.
Hi Ram,
I think everyone has the same experience which is why you have to get a good thick coat initially. Even so the rain does dissolve it, especially where not covered by foliage. As the fruit increases in size the coat cracks and some flakes off. Spraying weekly and after any significant rain is required.
A pic of mine after rain this week
This AM after spraying yesterday
I remove a lot of foliage just so I can see the fruits that I need to keep coated.

I washed Surround off apricots using warm water and Dawn detergent. No hard scrubbing needed. Just coddle them a bit in foam (like an egg) and rinse well. No lingering taste.
