Weed/seedling ID help

Had this grow up in one of my flats. I didn’t recognize it so let it go. Still don’t know what it is but given its vigor I assume a weed of some sort. Anyone know what it is? trying to decide whether to dump it or transplant and see what it turns into. Had our hopefully last frost last night (25 deg) so it’s time to finish getting the plants in the ground. Sue

Yes, wild lettuce - that makes sense. Thanks. We have that around - they grow to impressive heights. But I,ve never noticed them when starting out, amongst all the other vegetation. Sue

Looks like a dandilion to me.

Dandelions do look quite similar but have longer narrower leaves. We have plenty of those around, too!

Lettuce and dandelion should both bleed white latex from veins, radish should have a smell when crushed.

My money is still on radish, the other 2 have much smaller seeds and have several small leaves before growing larger ones.

So I finally looked closely at some young wild lettuce growing around and you’re right, Brent, that’s not it. And my garden radishes are now large enough and sure enough, there is a pretty good resemblance, though not exactly the same. So maybe wild radish? I planted it and will let it grow and flower and see what it looks like then. thanks to both of you for the suggestions. The variety of plants is quite amazing. Sue

I’d guess it might be daikon, I don’t really care much for radishes but plant daikon sometimes as a fall cover crop and the soil is so nice next spring.

That would have been my guess as well. Daikon, oilseed, or forage radish
