What a difference a year makes (chill hours)

Last year at this time 1339 fall/winter chill hours had accumulated for my area, the number this year is sitting at 875. I’m starting to wonder if my area will make it to the 1100 minimum listed as needed for a few of my peach varieties. Not sure if this translates to an earlier than normal bloom period but I’m already getting a little nervous about early peach/plum blooming and late spring freezes.

At 875 already I’d think you’re in good shape. I’ve never had chilling issues with peach/nectarine either in my greenhouse or outdoors. We are listed at about 800 hrs below 45.

The fruits that have shown issues have been apple, apricot, and cherry.
