What else do you grow besides

From my previous post, i am also growing Paw-Paw’s, a ton of Oriental persimmons, plums, pluots, berries, figs(inground and container).
Used to grow persimmons from different countries but scrap many of them. Some of my grafted persimmons are going back to the wild, have them all over the place.
Paw-Paw’s same way got them all over the place, they are also going wild, have no tags on them anymore.
Some of my persimmon tree’s that is growing too tall, i cut them down and regraft.DSC00475

I make a map of my property else i would never know what is what,
Now with grafting it’s become harder with trees. Each tree has numerous cultivars so i can fit it in my limited space, yet have fruit that ripens all year.
As far as what i grow too numerous to mentions all. I like to grow herbs and veggies too.

You have an awesome collection! What are your favorite Asian persimmon varieties?

Giombo, Kiungson ban si, Sayo, a couple Fuyu varieties and a Spanish one Roja Brilliante. These are the only ones i want to keep. Tree’s are all looking good, left too many on some of the tree’s last summer, so this summer some will be having a lighter load.

I’ve never heard of Kiungson ban si… what can you tell us about it? Astringent or not? Pollination variant or constant?

Mine is about 12 years old,Astringent, it will help with pollination for more fruits. Potash/ manganese will also help with all oriental persimmon for fruitdrop. Have younger ones grafted by me. They taste just about like Sayo’s but the difference, you only have to eat 3 instead a dozen.
