Mine died a few years back, but I really liked it. It’s not really all that early and it did great here a zone south of you. July is just the name, not ripening time.
I tried to grow it in wet western Oregon and it got destroyed by peach leaf curl in its first two years so I can’t comment on it’s growth or fruit behavior. This was my first peach tree purchase before I knew about PLC. Since then, I have ordered more PLC and bacterial canker resistant varieties like Salish sea, Charlotte and Indian free which are all thriving here now.
I got one for $12 on clearance at Stark Bros about a decade ago. It didn’t ripen early, about 2 weeks after redhaven, and it was weakly flavored. On the other hand, the tree was productive and easy to maintain. It gave me many disappointing peaches.
