What style of pruning is recommended for potted asian persimmons on D. virginia rootstock?

Hi,

For ichi Jiro and fuyu persimmons on D. virginia rootstock in large containers, should I do knee-height cut / open center?

Thank you

IME potted trees are so small it doesn’t matter. But you can train it any way you want. Canopy volume will be limited by pot size. I’ve just trained mine as a bush. If you want to keep the canopy more open it can’t hurt and might help in a humid climate…
