What to do with the bacatta rootstock after a failed graft

I have a few failed grafts. What would be the best way to create saplings from the bacatta that is growing instead? Stool layering? Cuttings?

Any chance that this crab apple could produce an useful apple? At least for cider?

I let my failed grafts grow for another year or two and then re-graft to what I want.

I would like to propagate so I can get my own supply of baby bacattas. All I know is that most apples are not easy to propagate vegetatively. Iā€™m wondering if there is an easy/efficient way to do it.
