Hello all! I’m on the Gulf Coast close to Galveston Tx. Currently growing some Asian astringent varieties but I can’t seem to find any info on growing the hybrids in my zone? Maybe because they don’t do well this far south? Any info would be appreciated!

Welcome Robert! I’m not familiar with chill hour requirements for hybrids but that is the main thing I can think of which might prevent your efforts from being successful.
I know you have a ton of choices with PCNA and PVNA kaki varieties too.

You might consult Cliff England manager of England Orchards. I grew up in west Tn where the climate was ok for our native persimmons but I am not familiar with chill hour requirements but probably Cliff could advise you

Thanks for the input so far….your correct on the many choices for kaki. Currently have sajio and hychia. Also just ordered Giombo. Forgive my spelling if it’s wrong!?!? I also have a bunch of native growing from seed to practice grafting. Does Cliff ever drop in in this board?
