What's eating my Redhaven peach?

Hi All,

What would be the cause of this damage? I did not see any insect. I can’t really tell what happened. I am in zone 7b. New York metro area.

Are they low? Rabbit? I would say some mammal and not bug or bird based on how it looks like the damage was made with teeth. Bird damage tends to look like it was pecked, lots of little holes. I have never seen anything like this so these are just guesses.

tree is very small in container. It does look like squirrel. more damage and a broken branch. :frowning:

Now I simply removed these damage fruits as thinning. How i do stop them doing more damage?
