What's going on with this Leconte pear branch?

Is this sun scald or something else? Used a razor blade and cut back a section and there was a little bit of brown on the surface, but mostly green underneath. A couple of branches have these dead looking sections, but overall the tree appears healthy. Although it’s not started to leaf out yet.

Thoughts?

My philosphy is when in doubt chop it out.

Thats odd, it might have gotten a little fireblight there.

You think? I only see it on the newer growth.

FB strikes however it likes. Only blossoms. Only big scaffolds. Only top shoots, You name it, it does it. It also has many different appearances depending on the kind of wood and weather during the strikes etc. I have never seen FB exactly like that so I’m not certain that is what it is, but I have seen many new forms come along and yet another new one is not surprising to me.
