When to tip blackberry laterals

I have a thornless Arapaho blackberry where I tipped the primocanes at around 4-5’ in the spring. They shot out strong laterals and I’m not sure when or if I should tip them as well? If I do, Will the laterals just develop more laterals on themselves? Is that preferable?

I’ve also heard where people leave one lateral as the new vertical stem, and tip the other laterals. I want a good yield, but don’t want to mess things up.

Thanks for any tips!

I tip my laterals at 12 to 18 inches and yes laterals will produce more laterals and that means more berries.
