Why are my apples blooming in Z7+ Maryland?

Can’t recall seeing this before. My apple trees are blooming like crazy right now. It’s been a terrible year for me with all the wet weather on top of crazy cicada damage. I have almost no apples on my trees this year. I figured that would make for good production next year- but with blooms happening now I’m not so sure.

Yah , mine too.
I suspect this is the result of the new “ Marssoninia “ apple blight. ?
Most all the leafs fell off in late August- early September.
Then a new flush of leafs and blooms , now small fruit. Late October.
It has not been uncommon to see a few blooms anytime of the season , but this is something new… heavy bloom in the fall !
Waiting on the USDA to confirm marssoninia bight diagnosis…

My cherry trees lost all their leaves and 2 out of 5 bloomed, 3 stand naked with 1 has a bark covering white powdery looking fungus. Not Pretty. I hope to keep the north star and Montmorency. I’ll cut down the Sweet September and my unknown sweet cherry trees that don’t produce but flower and set tons of fruit. and I have an unknow grafted to an unknow pop up seedling full size cherry. I have often wondered If I could graft a Montmorency to a wild black cherry seedling.
