Out here,Dolgo fruits are almost always perfect. No scab/bug damage. In comparison, my Liberty’s would be inedible if left unmanaged. There is a beautiful Dolgo tree in centertown and pollution + salt don’t seem to be issues.
I’m starting to appreciate ornamental crabapples. I grafted a few last year and they are already loaded with flowers. Here are Sugar Tyme and Profusion. I’m grafting Thunderchild this year.
What are the best Crabapples for pollination purposes. Nurseries list a few for commercial growers, Evereste, Mt. Blanc, snowdrift, Frettingham
