Nice read: Wild Boar Farms: A Tomato Breeding Legend
Thanks MrClint,I’m probably going to try growing Pink Berkeley Tie Dye next year. Brady
Nice article.
I tried some of the Indigo ones last year (Rose?)…I was really unimpressed. Not much flavor and very unproductive. I think I heard some of the newer ones are better?
Agree about Indigo Rose.
In my opinion their tomatoes receive too much attention. Very good photography, but in real life they are nothing special or good. Last year I grew indigo rose. It was OK as a novelty, but nothing special in terms of taste or production. This year I grew lucid gem, l hated how it looked in real life. Because of the green yellow and blue combination it looked sickly grayish. The production and disease resistance were good, the taste was below average. It seems that they breed their tomatoes for the unusual looks only. I probably would not buy any of their creations again.
I called it a spitter, couldn’t eat one of them. Very pretty and plentiful though.
