Saw this wasp nest in one of my persimmon trees today. I eased on out of there.

We have Kildeer nests at the horse barn I board at. The Kildeer put their eggs and “ nest” right under the pasture fences. We have to put little signs above the egg area so people know the eggs are actually there. They have done this for years.

We had a lot of terrapins in Kentucky were my family and I are from. You had to be careful when driving these terrapins wanted to cross the road for some reason. Thousands of acres on the one side they are coming from YET they just have to go across the road to the other side to get the “good stuff” to eat.

Here’s a groundhog that lives under my shed. This is one of the 5 groundhog babies last year I took a photo of when they were very small. This one groundhog gets tired and will lay down , spread eagle, on the ramp to the shed to rest.

sadly killdeer are endangered here because people destroy the eggs not knowing theyre there.

The kill deer are abundant here but making their nest in my driveway is a bad choice. Seem to be a lot of them around.
I have a memory of plowing a field at night time, big JD tractor, lights on like an airport. I look out and see a momma killdear doing he wounded act in my lights. I pulled forward, as far as I could, lifted the plow and passed over her nest and kept on plowing. Hope she got to fledged her group.

My annual Killdeer are just about done with their second round of chicks. Every year they nest in the woodchips around the trees. If not for their overly dramatic demonstrations I wouldn’t even know where their nests are. I expect they’ll vacate the premises soon and that’ll be it for the year. It’s always fun seeing the chicks running from the mower, but the parents constant bitching gets a bit tiring.

This is the 3rd year a bird has built a nest in my entry by my front door.
For months, I end up avoiding the front door because I don’t want to disturb the bird! Just yesterday, I think my doorway chicks have finally fledged and I can go back to using that door. I need to be a less welcome host when they are nest building!

I have had 2 fawns born in my field this year. The mother keeps leaving this one in my orchard (it can jump through the current fence setup) to help themselves to my trees and shrubs while she goes off feeding for the day. I need to have a word with her.

We have all been stuck being the babysitter , but when my enemies start dropping the babies off in the orchard there will be trouble. We are sympathetic to your dilemma they are cute babies, and adults.
