Will apple graft still take?

I have some grafting rookstock that were planted last year (in ground leafed out). Will grafts still take in zone 6a?

Yes, if the scion and technique are good.

Just like Murky said, scion quality and a good grafting technique is the key. I zone 6a, I have heard people grafting into June.

I just grafted an apple yesterday and I am confident it will take. Go for it,
