Anybody else grafting windthrow twigs? I got twigs from a 100 foot old tree last October, after a good wind. Today, they looked not bad, so I grafted two. I might try some in Mid May, if the twigs hold that long. I’d love to try them on established trees…always the eternal optimist, grin. Some twigs had fresh green leaves on the day they were gathered, some had leaves starting to brown. Ah, well, wait and see what they do, I guess, grin.
Any body else doing those ‘hail Mary’ grafts?
