My 7 yr old wonderful pomegranate tree has never flowered what’s wrong tree appears very healthy
Here are some possible explanations:
- You (or somebody else) heavily prune this tree. Pomegranates bloom on new growth and if it’s cut off in spring, then there will be no flowers.
- Your tree is mislabeled and actually not a pomegranate.
- It’s a miracle of nature.
I’ll add another possibility, from my own experience… siting could be an issue.
When I was 8 yrs old, I rooted some poms from a productive bush at the home of a family friend. Planted them at my grandparents’ farmstead. They were well within the rootzone of a young black walnut tree - what 8 yr old knows about juglone? The poms grew OK, but did not produce fruit for 35 years, until excavation for a new septic line - between the poms and the BW - severed BW roots and caused decline and eventual death of the BW - but the poms burst into fruit production and never looked back.
It is surely a pomegranate not pruned recently no trees nearby except for smaller pomegranate 20 ft away 3yrs planted hasn’t flowered also have ornamental pomegranate mature mom gave me flowered 1st spring after planting 3yrs hasn’t flowered
