I’ve searched, but haven’t found any definitive yes or no to using cedar wood chips as fruit tree mulch. I’m primarily concerned with weed control, but don’t want to use cedar if it will have ill effects on the trees.
Is there any consensus on using cedar?
No problem, just takes longer to break down
its actually good protection from insect damage. the oils in cedar repell bugs so it will keep most insects away for a few seasons anyway and you won’t have to remulch very often. as long as its not turned into the soil you’re good.
