Butterfly bush from seed?

Has anyone done it?

Park seed says this strain blooms first year. I only have three so far started.

I don’t see any butterfly bush in the photo?

Potentially, buddleia (butterfly bush) will bloom late in the first year from seed, under ideal growing conditions with adequate rain or watering.

The three in a row on the left side. Next to the empty cells.

I had one come up from a crack in my walkway stairs. It was only about a foot tall, but bloomed in the first year. Maybe conditions were just right from the rain, as I definitely wasn’t irrigating the staircase.

The local propagation farms in SoCal produce thousands of them from seed each year.
