Protecting your fruit from the birds

My friend, @amh0001, recomeded these bags for my fruit trees…and it’s working! The birds are no longer eating my fruit.

Which bags are those?

Look like a large size jewelry bags. Birds in Southern California must have a good manner.

Birds in the east coast would peck through that bags in no time.

They are called, " Organza Drawstring Gift Bag Pouch Wrap for Party/Game/Wedding."

Yup, same thing we use here in the east. OFM and PC have no problem laying eggs through those bags if any part of the fruit inside touches the bags.

I have noticed the same thing re: insects getting at the fruit through the organza bags. Unless I bagged too late but don’t think so.

Ham,
I have seen clearly signs of bugs cut holes through organza bags and my homenade bread bags.

I have no problems with bugs here in California.

Netting my plums has kept the squirrels out, but the birds have been pecking thru the net.

These are the Methley plums, now ripening. But when they can’t get at the Methleys, the damn birds attack the Hollywoods, by no mean near ripe. They’ve never done this before.

They’ve also done some pecking of the apricots, tho they left the apriums alone.
