yep cant agree more, constructing an overhead box structure is time-consuming and is not as easy as it sounds. It’s also very susceptible to wind. seems like the fiberx umbrella frame fits your needs but can be quite costly for 100 trees

I need to order a smaller one for my plum tree and one for my persimmon tree. I really like these umbrellas. I’ve tried to make some homemade diy but they suck and don’t look good compared to my xl Eagleland umbrella. Is that a small frame over your nectarine?
