2022 - 2023 Grafting Thread

I didn’t do any spring grafting this year. But yesterday I decided to graft a piece of Chojuro on my harrow sweet and winter banana apple on Chojuro, in the same go. We’ll
See how it goes. I’m counting on the easiness of pear grafting for this to work out.

I can report that these grafts didn’t take. I guess you can’t just throw Scions at a tree and expect it to stick.

That graft was done end of September last year.

Hi all,

I moved to my new acerage home and I didn’t want to leave behind my fruiting top branch of the awesome Red Asian pear so I cut the large 2.5 feet top of that branch and W&T grafted to a large callery rootstock. 3 weeks later it now start to push buds all over the large branch. Instant fruiting Red Asian pear for next year.
