I can get blue 200L barrels locally for €15, and plan to cut each into four 9" high 2ft diameter tree rings. Seems like the cheapest way I can find to edge around 35 trees.

They are manufactured in large industrial cities where demand is high. For example there is a factory in Los Angeles north of the harbor selling 40 on long pallets (20’x4’x8’) for $22.50/barrel will-call.
These 15 gallon injection mold tubs are $3.68 each will-call in quantity at a wholesale supplier 10 miles from here.
