Jester, Joker, and Falstaff are all sweet and crunchy like Iceberg but have more flavor. I have tried them all but settled on Falstaff because I like the open growth habit better. I make an attempt to grow it all summer here.
my house is approaching 110 years old, I live in a Historic Preservation District in Brooklyn NY, I need a permit to to do any structural work to my house, even paint colors can only be chosen from a list provided by the city. Yes it does prevent the spread of McMansions but anything connected to the actual house with line of sight to the street must be approved by the city.
My Dad, passed on his custom blinking “Homemade Adult Films” neon sign, I hang it up and turn it on when my neighbors piss me off, or an annoying film shoot is monopolizing my block
I’ve noticed that when watching “This Old House” that they need to get a lot of permission to do things to the houses they remodel…i believe most of them are in or near Boston/ Around here its pretty lax, but you still need permits to do certain things (siding/remodels)…i know in some parts of the state though you can do about anything (depending on the county/township/etc) without pulling much in the way of permits…although i suppose you run into issues in regards to wells/septic.
I try to be a good neighbor, but it’s difficult to please everyone!
