Great to see you here! It’s Stella. There are some threads on Alpine strawberries, and that’s where I learned about your site this winter. Here are just two, but if you search “alpine strawberries” a lot come up. Most of my alpines and woodlands started from seed this winter are producing, but the drought, high heat and catbird thieves have been hard, so I’ve only had a few or none of some of them. Ruegen and Deesse des vallees have been the most productive thus far- edit actually I looked ar my layout map of where I have a bunch planted too close together and that’s not accurate. Ruegen is more productive in a different container but in Tha one Ddv, Rdv, Regina and Waldsteinchen are equally producing, I think. I’m not keeping great records. I have not had enough to really be able to distinguish flavors from plant to plant. I got a red wonder the other day (although it might have been mignonette) and that seemed to be a slightly different and possibly tastier bite. Rodluvan has run and spread like crazy, but interestingly, not so much woodland. I know I have not gotten to try any Hawaii 4 or Pineapple crush yet, but I think all the other whites. The white Solemacher grew the best from the start so those are the most productive at the moment. Most I have are in containers of various types but I plan on changing those around this fall (reducing varieties in the multis) and planting more in ground.
