I purchased my raja from Restoring Eden. I have purchase almost twenty trees from them and they have all done well and are larger than most places I have ordered from.

Anyone have any updates with Raja pears and fireblight? I have a new tree grafted from scion from England’s orchard and they swear by it over there
According to Cliff England via email he says, regarding Raja and disease, that they have “No issues, has never had any.”
Raja may be highly resistant to fireblight at Cliff’s. That does not mean it will be highly resistant in other locations. I have Shinko grafted and large enough to produce a few fruit the last 2 years. It has not had any strikes of fireblight since I made the graft in 2021. I would rate Shinko as highly resistant. But it has had problems with fireblight for others. I suspect Raja will be similar. I have 2 grafts of Raja so in a few years I will find out.

Last year 39 parallel shipped me some Asian pears. Narrowly missed the Raja though.
Raja is a great tasting pear and has not had any blight here on three trees of it. It is HIGHLY prone to fruit cracking though. It’s also an extremely vigorous grower if you were thinking about trying to keep it small.
