Anyone make ice cream?

How does it work? That is crazy vintage.

Yes, keep testing and you eventually find the sweet spot.

Yes, whole milk is icy. Add some eggs and less icy. But mixing cream in does better. Also, some organic cornstarch if you heat it up with the eggs. About a tablespoon of cornstarch.

Long time since I used it, worked great, think it’s in my attic. Makes handy small batches, strong motor and blades. Mixes ingredients then set aluminum container in freezer till slushy stiff. Then back out for more mixing in air. Then into container and freeze. That type was pretty popular around 1960ish. White Maid, Maid of Honor, etc. Didn’t have to mess with rock salt.

Different brand, thought I remembered something like this… Plugged in and runs INSIDE the freezer! Says it shuts itself off automatically when ready.

Love homemade ice cream. But if you’re trying to lose weight, try a keto or carnivor diet. I lost 80 lbs going carnivor. It takes a bit of getting used to. Craving carbs is a big issue, but after the first week or so it goes a way. Keto is easier.

We have a Ninja Creami that I use to make ice cream type of desserts. Basically, I make a healthy protein smoothie with some kind of protein powder, and then I add fresh fruit or berries and some yogurt, kefir, or cottage cheese to thicken it. I have also added some oatmeal or chia seeds, and we use the plain cocoa powder for chocolate ice cream. It is not truly an ice cream, since there is no cream, sugar, or eggs in it, but is is a healthy and easy to make frozen dessert that we both look forward to having.
