A few posts made on this forum pointed out testing the rootstocks is a good idea. Instead of performing a trial on an A-frame, I planted 5 straight - 125 ft rows on with 100 G-41 and 25 Bud 9 trees. I also have 3 trees that are interstem M-111, Bud 9.
Aside from the rootstock trial, it was hard to find the time to prune the 1,500 current trees, plant 700 new peach trees, plant 128 apple trees, and build the A-frame. Once I know which rootstock will perform well, I plan to visit the A-frame.
