i read somewhere they tested the nurients in kerr apples and found them to be 3xs more nutrient dense than regular large apples but they only tested them against like the 4 most commonly sold store apples. it seems the ones grown further north also seem to be more nutrient dense. maybe its are long hours of summer daylight that do it. or maybe most apples prefer the cooler summers?

I could look it up, but Kerr apples are a kind of improved crab, so I would assume nutrient content is higher than in larger less intensely flavored apples. I think this is true of intensely flavored fruit in general, such as black currants. Dense, more concentrated flavor tends to mean there are more nutrients concentrated in less space.
