Avocado Farm Nursery in Northern California Delta Nursery

Beautiful little tree Pete! Are you going to graft over it or let it be?

No I don’t plan to graft over it. I may graft additional varieties onto it at some point but I have 7 or 8 avocado trees and I have room to plant another 10 or so, so I plan to just add additional varieties by planting new trees.

Yeah you have some great land there. I’m not as fortunate so planting my trees 8’ apart. 8-10 avo trees you’all will be eating good. And healthy!

I was trying to figure out where I wanted to put the future pig pen. I finally decided on the top of the hill for the pigs so that opened up some room for more avocado trees :+1:t2: So cool to be able to grow so many avocado varieties. Hopefully the summer and winter don’t cause problems.

Hopefully that hill is far away when the rain comes lol. Last winter was a piece of cake. I use a 10’x10’ canopy frame for my trees. I use 6mill plastic when it gets anywhere near 38° for any frosts since all my phone weather apps are always wrong and I have 40% shade cloth for any temps over around 95°. I’ve had to shade them 3 times so far this season. I’ll baby them for a few years but we will have severe freezes in the future it’s all about getting the roots as established as possible first that way we can protect at least a few feet above the soil line. Also my trees are about 2’ high.
