This isn’t what I want to be using, right?
Aluminum can be harmful…but a little might be fine. Pure sulphur’d be better.
Aluminum is not essential to plants–putting too much on can be toxic.
I like Tiger Sulphur-Bentonite{90-10) to lower ph plus gain a bit of moisture retention. Also Protassium Sulfate Potash mix. My prime general fertilizer is Super Rainbow 5-12-12. I can add extra nitrogen via liquid injection if need be.
I always mix Diatomaceous earth, peat and Vermiculite in my sand loam mix as a base.Going to start adding the calcinated clay too.
Sounds like good ideas. But expensive. I get by on the cheap.
((Maybe that’s the reason my growth and production aren’t so good, you think?))
Aluminum sulfate will allow you to lower pH without the long wait required with elemental sulfur. Once pH is where you want it keep it there with the cheaper elemental sulfur.
Tiger is fairly cheap. I used to use whatever 10-10-10 they had laying around. Then Rainbow won me over.
